TOE

Some UFC 159 update! Didn't really concentrate on all the fights other than the Roy Nelson vs Kongo and the Jones vs Sonnen fight. Seriously, Nelson is like the Oprah of UFC when it comes to knockouts.

"You get a K.O! And you get a K.O! And you get a K.O! And everyone gets a K.O!"

Lololol.

Bisping vs Belcher was relatively meh despite what Bisping said during the interview at the end of the fight. Most interesting part was probably when he accidentally stuck his finger into Belcher's eye, causing it to bleed really badly and then proceeded to win by technical decision.

But if you thought that was squeamish, take a look at what happened to Jon Jones' toe.

My reaction:

 photo tumblr_m8puin8RDh1rc5a35o6_250_zps7d55c393.gif

My reaction was probably more like Juice's than Chibs'. I usually consider myself to be quite tolerable when it comes to squeamish stuff but damnnnnnnnn. That is one hell of a nasty injury. Thing is, it wasn't even inflicted by Chael Sonnnen or during some major grappling. It just snapped in half out of nowhere la! *shivers* That gif gives me the creeps.

The actual fight itself was okay. I was rooting for Team Sonnen throughout but let's not forget that Jon Jones is a really, really good fighter. So there it is! Next majorly anticipated fight would probably be anything involving Anderson Silva. Nothing is set in stone yet, but it seems like there might be a match up between Silva and Jones. That fight probably has a higher chance in manifesting than the Silva vs GSP one.

Okay, end of my UFC recap for myself, yet again. On to other things!

Podcasts, y'all.

That's currently my thing now. The Joe Rogan Experiment is probably one of the most offensive, crude and funny podcasts out there.  Fuh-reaking hilarious. They talk about a bunch of random stuff, make a hell lot of fun of each other, and are just extremely funny to listen to. You know how DJs from radio stations will run advertisements in between songs and they would either run a prerecorded version or do a live introduction of the product that they are advertising?

Well, this is what you get from Joe Rogan.

"You know what? Fuck commercials for this podcast. I don't feel like doing any commercials. So, no commercials, suck it, suck it please, move on, now let's get this thing started."

LOL.

And a random change of topic now. It just dawned on me how much is on the to-do list for the trip and up till now, all that is completed is the booking of the air tickets. I doubt anything else can be done until finals are over, so that leaves us with a little less than a month to book and confirm everything.

At the top of my head, these are the things that need to be done.

1) Find out if the domestic airlines would allow us to fly from Busan-Jeju for the departure flight, but Jeju-Seoul for the arrival flight instead. Figure out what to do (and die a little inside) if that is not possible.
2) Accommodation for Seoul, Busan and Jeju.
3) Book train tickets to Busan and figure out how to collect them.
4) Book the DMZ tour tickets and figure out what the heck needs to be applied for/settled because apparently, there is some sort of clearance that needs to be obtained? Notice that this entire point is centered on ambiguity.
5) Itinerary for the entire trip, which includes directions, maps, touristy stuff, not so touristy stuff, and a ton of English translations.

I wasn't joking when I said that all we did was book the air tickets. And oh yeah, we are also trying to cram everything into as low of a budget as possible.

I'm sure I left out a bunch of stuff but 5 is about all that I can handle right now on the you-are-so-screwed-if-you-don't-get-this-done list.

Okay, I am feeling a little stressed out right now after typing that out so this post is done!

P.S/ Also, there is this hilarious twitter page (or account?) that I chanced upon just now. @YusofIshakSG. Lolol the latest tweet says this, "I know you need me my dear sayang...". There's also another one with a LV wallet image and the tweet reads "This looks like a good place to lepak.."

HAHAHA. People's creativity never ceases to amaze me.

Okay, that is all for now.

LEMONS

What's a better way to wallow in your own sadness and throw a successful self pity party in an attempt to get over it than ordering a mcspicy meal past midnight and risk feeling regret the next day?

But I'm telling you, it works.

Because I just woke up laughing to my own joke about lemons. Which I cannot remember the exact details because I was in the twilight zone of half dreaming-half reality.

Is the real life, or this just fantasy? Caught in a landslide, no escape for reality. Open your eyes, look up to the skies and seeeeeeee~

Before I get carried away. I've been meaning to catch the full 6-10am show on 98.7fm which my sleep cycle was all "You shall not pass!" about. So I actually woke up laughing, thinking that I was tuning in to the radio station, with one of the DJs (Bobby) telling a joke about lemons. Lol.

Ya I woke up laughing at my own joke. I wish I could say that this is the first time. Ha ha ha.

Meanwhile between many practice papers, I've been planning my outfits for my trip in June/July. Lol I do this for all my trips actually, regardless if it will work out in the end (i.e fitting into the luggage). I'm a very guilty over-packer. And this trip round, I am determined to pack only 6 tops and 3 bottoms for a 10 day trip. It's suppose to be the ideal amount of clothing to bring along according to travel packing websites. Also, it might give you the slightest idea about how much I usually overpack.

Hopefully following a very strict pack list and doing more push ups will make for a successful me lugging my luggage around. My success rate usually increases when I'm near the airport (trolleys!) and if rolling is allowed. Not so much when trying to get it in and out of the truck of a taxi. I usually look wistfully to my travel buddy for that.

Okay. Ending abruptly now.

TUF 17

:O :O :O :O :O :O :O :O

So guess who has to eat her words?

Kelvin Gastelum walks away as the winner of TUF 17 by split decision + the youngest TUF winner ever!

It was a considerably close fight, seeing that the judges scored it 29-28, 28-29, 29-28 in Kelvin's favour. Kelvin was an absolute beast out there. A relentless and effective beast. All his take downs, punches and grappling - you could tell that he really held nothing back and poured his heart out in the octagon.

But the same cannot be said for Uriah. Anyone who watched TUF 17 would probably agree that he just wasn't performing like he should. Sure, the suplex was pretty impressive and his grappling skills weren't too shabby either, but why in the world was he not using his reach advantage of 9.5" and kneed/kicked/punched his way into a TKO? Perhaps he psyched himself out because he was fighting a fellow team mate.

Oh well. Kelvin didn't over analyse the fight and really gave it his all, and so he walks away with the win deservingly.

So, moving on to the fight of the night! Miesha Tate vs Cat Zingano.

WHOA. Just. Whoa. Miesha Tate's jaw has got to be made of something else other than bone. Just look at this.

This doesn't even include the many many heavy punches that Cat threw before. When Miesha went down, it wasn't even a full on KO. She just looks like she fell forward, if that makes any sense. If the referee didn't step in, there is no doubt that she could stand back up and take on another onslaught of solid punches to her face. Just, whoa. O.O

And since I tend to notice the most random of things, like how Mike Ricci's hair always looks bomb despite the amount of grappling, I shall include it here too.

Kelvin's walking out song was...something else. I was just telling my dad this when they were rolling his introduction/highlights tape.

"He's Mexican, but he can look a little Italian hor?"

And the next moment Kelvin is walking out to what sounds like a live Mariachi band. Lolol. He could not be clearer about his heritage.

Okay, so this concludes my recap of  TUF 17...for myself...because no one else watches it :'(

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On a side note, the air tickets are booked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am flying off in exactly 1 month after the end of my last paper for finals, so that's definitely something to look forward to! :)

Now I just have to figure out how to book/reserve train tickets. I've read a few articles and forums and all I've gotten is confused.

That is all for now.

APRIL

So this is my very effortless April installment. I could not embrace the essence of the word effortless enough because 2 of the 4 pictures were actually taken in March. Lol.

Clockwise,
1) New pair of jeggings I bought and have only worn out once thus far because the weather is so very unforgiving. Seriously,  humidity + black + extremely heat-unfriendly pleather panel on the side = agony. Also, this photo was taken when I came home and proceeded to nua on my room's floor with the fan blasting in my direction in a desperate attempt to cool down. I kid you not.

2) Shared birthday present.

3) Overly priced, ultra fancy, I-have-to-be-stored-in-the-freaking-freezer durian cake for Dad's birthday.

4) Something for G which I bought randomly on a rare trip to the mall.

So that's all for the month of April. And probably May, because I'd be waist deep buried in mugging land by then. Surprisingly I feel okay-ish, probably because I got back my prelim paper for LBO and it helped me get over my sadness for ESAP, where I tragically misinterpreted that one impression formation/management question. I was sad about it for days man.

I doubt this whole post is going to make sense but I'm just going to continue.

You know sometimes you just reach a plateau in your revision and you have absolutely no more mental capacity? That's me on a daily basis. Ha ha ha. So, previously in yesterday's daily plateau, I decided to curl my hair. And yes, please read the previous sentence like the opening of every The Walking Dead's episode. The curls turn out really pretty, though I'm not too sure if I like them on me. Hmmm.

OKAY, last random paragraph.

TUF 17 finale is t-t-t-t-t-omorrow! Or Sunday, however the time zone difference works. Super psyched for Uriah Hall's fight. Kelvin is for sure the underdog of the season and the most improved, but I just don't see how he's going to beat Hall. Maybe by submission? We'll see I guess.

I shall leave you with an extremely funny title I read about Anthony Kiedis, the frontman of Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

"Anthony Kiedis Totally Looks Like Emo Hitler"

For reference, this is how he looks like:

Ha ha ha ha ha.

HUMIDITY

Summary of the weather for the past half a month.

Hopefully this is only going to persist for another month or so even though I know deep down it probably isn't going to happen because the weather is feeling puckish and just wants to punk all of us with this ridiculous humidity.

I'm pretty sure we are all being punked because the weather app on my phone actually states this.

Temperature: 29°C (feels like 40°C)

Also, the humidity level today is 84%. I want to silently weep in a corner whenever I think about how long this humidity wave is going to continue, but I can't. I can't because my tear reserves have already evaporated as perspiration instead.

True story.
