DELREY

Feel free to pay this song as you are reading this post. I'm obsessed with the entire album at the moment.

A conversation last night with ze bff.

G: What you doing.
Me: Watching videos about Dita Von Teese and listening to Lana Del Rey and wanting to go live in the 50s but being reminded of the comfort of jeans and shorts.
G: Omg I'm starting to wonder if we belong to the same gen.

In case anyone don't know who Dita is, she's a burlesque dancer. So she's essentially a stripper la. So yes, I spent my x'mas eve watching interviews of a stripper while listening to Lana's album on repeat. Best way to spend it in my opinion.

This space's looking a little dull and sad so...here are some photos to cherry this space up before I head out and celebrate x'mas at my favourite Japanese restaurant.

1. How good does Bill look with his hair cut and bleached? I cannot wait for Tokio Hotel's new album. It's been too long.

2. Baked strawberry cheesecake cupcakes while catching up on UFC. Still pissed at the bad refereeing job for the Ricci vs Smith fight. It was 90% wrestling + failed choke hold attempts and 10% kitty punches. Plus the referee missed a bloody obvious foul. Ugh, I'm getting pissed all over again just talking about it.

3. Very bad wrapping which I am hoping the ribbon might distract the eyes from. I'm good to go as long as ze bff doesn't flip the gift around and see the horrendous taping on the back side.

4. Attempted a selca. Attempted.

Gonna haul my ass to prepare for an awesome evening. God knows how long I'll take while listening to Lana's album. Not exactly the kind of music that screams "Hurry your ass up!!". Haha.

Merry Merry Merry Christmas.

We were born to die.

TROUBLE

I guess you didn't care
And I guess I liked that
-
You took a step back

It's just one of those nights when i feel really stupid over something that should be insignificantly insignificant and i want to rant but i dont know where to start and i know it's probably just a joke a very annoying joke but you know what i expected some form of comfort at the end of the joke but it didnt came and i feel like a joke now so like what swifty said so shame on me and i am not going to take this personally or seriously or whatever imma just sleep it off till i can conjure up sentences with puctuation.

Haiyerrrrrrr.

Ok done. Done. Change topic,

WTF

Who the fuck decided that 9.30pm was the official carol singing time on 14TH FUCKING DECEMBER???????

A bunch of people are singing a compilation of christmas songs and they are currently doing a number which goes like this.

I wanna wish you a merry christmas from the bottom of my heart
I wanna wish you a merry christmas from the bottom of my heart
I wanna RUIN YOUR STUDY SESSION WITH OUR CHERRY VOICES AND MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR YOU TO CONCENTRATE ON YOUR MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING NOTES.

And who the hell shakes a god damn shaker so loud that it could be heard all 11 freaking levels above the ground. WHO????

If there's anything I dislike more than festive music, is premature festive music sung by a bunch of overly enthusiastic people oozing excessive sunny disposition.

I am 5 minutes into my rant and I think that they are on their last number. It's silent night. If they were trying to elicit a response from me, they will have it yelled out the window in about 10 seconds if they do not stop singing.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

.........

Congratulations, carol singing people whom I assume do not own a calender OR a watch, you have just made me screamed out the window "SHUT UP STOP SINGING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" whilst on the phone with G. She calmly told me "If they don't stop singing by 10 you can call the police you know." Lol.

It did not work by the way, if anyone wanted to know. They merely softened their voices and changed their track list.

Tell me how Where Is The Love by Black Eyed Peas and Lucky by Jason Mraz has got anything to do with the season. HOW. Each irrelevant song they are singing is just slowly thinning away my patience and self control of not shouting out my own rendition of Where Is The SILENCE out the window.

Great. They are singing We Are Young now. I'm aging from rage just hearing their continuous singing.

Rage I tell you, RAGE.

CARROT

I'm not one to be obsessed with soft toys plush toys or just toys in general, but this has got to be the funniest thing ever. A giant carrot. Yes I am amused by giant vegetables.

Need to head down to Ikea and get me some.

Speaking of shopping,

Ally told me about a couple of online shops that were having majorly ridic x'mas discounts. We might have spent a significant part of our social psych lecture browsing through the websites for fear of limited stocks.

As you can see, while I'm still trying to be disciplined and carefully sifting through the barrage of extremely discounted clothing choices, there she is, playing her dangle-carrot-in-front-of-the-rabbit part really well. Lol.

Damn you year end sales!!

EMT

Was feeling a little hungry when I decided to click on an epic meal time video.

5 videos later this is how I feel.

Photobucket

I ain't even hungry no more.

Feeling a little..jaded. Okay maybe not as severe as jaded but more along the lines of feeling unappreciated? Perhaps in a day or two I will successfully convince myself that it is more of a circumstantial thing than a great disappointment, but right now I feel like those emergency call numbers you never call unless you're in one.

SICK

View from out my window when I came home after school.

Succumbed to visiting a doctor because my sore throat-turned-cough isn't really flying with the weather nowadays. Sore throats are always a delight to have. They are the entire package you see, first a little infection on your throat, then bump it up to cough, next thing you know you're down with a fever and a miserable flu.

I might have stalled a little too long because I'm in between the last two stages now. Wrapped myself up in jeans + hoodie and waddled to school today feeling like a sack of crap.

Is it weird that I cannot not think of Britney whenever someone uses the word prerogative?

Foo Fighters on the repeat.

Down crooked stairs and sideways glances,
Comes the king of second chances.
Now throw him in the flame.

Also, is it weird that I always listen to AC/DC's Back in Black in the morning?

Yes I'm let loose,
From the noose,
That's been keeping me hanging about
I keep looking at the sky cause it's getting me high
Forget the herse cause I'll never die
I got nine lives
Cat's eyes
Using every one of them and running wild

This song never fails to get me pumped up for a school day...which I doubt is the last thing on the Young brothers' and Brian Johnson's mind when they wrote this song. Get a college girl who woke up way too early on a Tuesday pumped for school. Hahahaha.

BURNT

I am too lazy to put away a bowl of burnt popcorn so while I am trying to fight off lethargy and trying to come up with a concise set of chemistry notes, that is all I am smelling right now. Problems of not having a microwave around the house and having bad estimation of when popcorn is supposed to be done popping. I was afraid that if I lifted the lid too early a piece of popped corn might take out my eye.

I also have a bowl of melted brown sugar sitting in the sink because I felt fancy and wanted my popcorn to be sweet. Not the biggest fan of doing dishes.

Extremely lethargic right now. Every single month when the period's here, my body goes into a time-to-make-her-miserable mode. Extremely lethargic, even worse memory than usual, random jabs of pains, weird food cravings. Did I mention extreme lethargy? Seriously I get so damn tired it's not funny.

Couz: Can we have tuition on Sunday at 8pm?
Me: Yupyup can!

I showed up at her place on Saturday at 8pm and rang the doorbell with a half eaten cup of grape fro-yo. My cousin might have opened the door with a O.O face exclaiming "Meishan jie jie it's supposed to be SUNDAY!!!".

God I am so frickin' tired right now.

ARGO

Went to catch Argo after class and it was fucking awesome. Except.

Except for the 6 or 7 little pricks sitting behind us whom I really, really want to individually push down the stairs, see them tumbling down in slow-mo and then piling up against one another. Rage. So much rage!!! I was feeling so fucking mad and in awe (of the movie, that is) at the same time. Quite a weird sensation I'd say.

Throughout the movie, they were:

1) Talking to each other in their normal conversing volume, which happens to be amplified by a fucking million and one  times when you're in a quiet cinema.
2) Giving extremely eye-rolling worthy comments/reactions.
Example 1.
Movie dialogue: "Argo fuck yourself"
Little asshole 1: HAHAHA OMG HE SAID FUCK. Is this movie rated??
Little asshole 2: OMG hehehe he said fuck! I don't know leh they should rate it NC-16!!

No. The movie shouldn't be rated based on age. It should be rated based on IQ and upbringing because people who have the IQ equivalent of an amoeba with questionable upbringing should be barred from critically acclaimed films like Argo.

Example 2.
Scene with woman dressed in a sexy space suit thing. You couldn't see no cleavage or boobs or nothing. Just a lot of thigh.
Little assholes: HEHEHEHEHE WAAAA HEHEHEHE WAAA.

I don't even.

Example 3.
Little Asshole: Wa this is the most boring movie I've watched la.

Well... I suppose I was expecting a little too much from an amoeba.

3) Just being an extremely ill mannered, rambunctious group of kids.

I don't even know I should be using kids anyway, it almost sounds too mannered for them. Is there another word for kids but with a derogatory nature to it?

Towards the end I really couldn't take it anymore so I turned around and said "Excuse me but do you mind?". And that was after H shushing them twice before and the entire cinema giving them the stink eye.

You would think that they would have felt embarrassed or slightly intimidated by now, but oh no. I was so damn wrong. They just ignored what you said and went on being the little fucks they were.

Even when the film was over and they were screening the credits and a little background story montage thing, they couldn't keep their mouths shut. The lady sitting beside us also couldn't take it anymore (her tolerance for fuckery was obviously higher) so she turned around and told them "If you're not interested in the movie you could just leave. LEAVE! *points to the door*".

How would you have reacted/felt as a tween if someone were to say that to you and your friends in public? I highly doubt that carrying on with being a little fucker would be your answer. It was theirs though, no surprise there.

Left the theater feeling extremely pissed and "wow that movie was really great" at the same time. Never felt that before. Also, I've never heard Huihui cursed as much as she did in the first 15 minutes of leaving the theater either. Haha.

Treated ourselves to DTF for a little xlb lovin' before buying some green tea tofu that looked interesting. Came back, watched the latest episode of The Walking Dead S3, attempted to exercise for a little while before ranting about the very interesting day I've had.

I now have officially developed an aversion for tweens.

FB

Was on ger's facebook for about 10 minutes yesterday.

Me: Wa it's been a long time since I've been on facebook la. Let me catch up on stuff okay!
G: I already know who you want to check out. Hahahaha.
Me: *types in the first 2 letters*...wait what's his name ah?
G: BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

You probably didn't get all that but it's okay. It's just just a freaking hilarious moment.

Me: Okay I'm done with it already. How do you exit this thing ah?
G: You mean log out?

LOL.

VIET

Was studying halfway before I got distracted and watched an episode of Criminal Minds. And reading a very very very long article about the Vietnam War.

Read through all 3 US presidents trying to control the army situation and was almost half way through it before I got distracted again.

Watched a silent (either that or I didn't know how to work the sound button) video where the US army captured a whole village of suspected Viet Cong soldiers, pestered my dad to tell me more about the war before reading a chapter of Nam - The Vietnam War In The Words Of The Men And Women Who Fought There. Got distracted for the Nth time and typed this out before heading back to finish the article.

I don't even remember I bought the book. Think I read through 3 odd chapters before giving up because it was soooo content heavy, albeit a little less than the Perfect Hostage by Justin Wintle. That book had like 15 chapters dedicated to the geographical and political history of Myanmar and it was backdated to something like 325 B.C please. Spent a massive amount of time plowing through that book and I only got to the point where they were talking about Aung San, who is Aung San Suu Kyi's FATHER. The woman's face is on the cover of the book! You would think they would have 15 chapters dedicated to her instead.

Wow I can even get distracted while typing.

Back to finishing the article and hopefully not get distracted anymore. I was studying management accounting, you know. How in the world.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Caught a few episodes of The L Word and came across this quote.

"The Greek word, eros, denotes want, lack. The desire for that which is missing. The lover wants what it does not have. It is by definition, impossible for him to have what he wants, for as soon as it is had, it is no longer wanted..."

Did some light reading about Eros and I really like Plato's take on the word.

"Even when it seems to give, eros continues to be a "desire to possess", but nevertheless, it is different from a purely sensual love in being the love that tends towards the sublime."

It may seem kinda lame here but I am reciting it all in a very heavy and sexy, french accented English in my mind. Marina can say anything and it would sound desirable. I bet she could make celery sound desirable. "Celerrrry." Bam.

BACKLOG

You're just a daydream away,
I woudn't know what to say if i have you.
And I'll keep you a daydream away,
Just watch from a safe place,
So I'll never have to lose.

My ipod has a really good sense of humor. Just after the song above was Nirvana's Come As You Are. Lol.

But on a serious note. I have absolutely no idea how to classify you. You're just...a backlog of all things open ended. It's like we're just pensively waiting for someone to do something. We'd have nights when we talk about things that crack me up, when I'd feel like I'm finally getting to know you better, nights that put a smile on my face before I drift off to sleep. But then there are moments that make me feel like there's nothing to substantiate the conversation, or me feeling annoyed at your indifference towards my complaints.. And just when I'm about to be over it, you'd say something simple but insightful that makes me wonder if it's thoughtful or obligatory. Moments that confuse the shit out of me. I wish I had the balls to just ask you straight out. The only thing keeping me from growing a pair is probably because...a part of me would rather not know the truth. I just want to live in the state of open endedness and enjoy the occasional happy nights when they come by. Maybe. But until I want something more concrete, this is the way things have to be.

Analysing. Analysing about stuff is tiring.

WALKING

The first 4 episodes of The Walking Dead S3 = One big cry fest.

Maggie saying her goodbyes to Hershel, cry. Rick ignoring Lori, cry. Rick placing his hand on Lori's shoulder and Lori feeling very touched by it, cry. T-dog bitten, cry. T-dog  sacrificing himself to save Carol, cry. Lori saying her goodbyes to Carl, cry. Carl shooting Lori, cry. Rick crying on the floor, CRY EVEN MORE.

I just cried through 4 episodes of a zombie show. What is wrong with me.

LOSER

Hi my name is Meishan. I'm 20 years old and I still get locked out of my home because I forgot to bring my house keys with me.

This is how a loser being locked out at 9pm on a rainy Saturday night looks like. Together with an ice cream cone that tries to over compensate.

SUSHI

Upcoming weeks are packed with make up lessons conducted by an audit lecturer with an extremely skewed concept of fun. He must have gone "Hmm you know what's fun? Conducting a make up lesson on a Friday night AND a Sunday afternoon!". Sunday, people. SUNDAY.

Discovered that the best timing for a sakae buffet was after a grueling school day. Was so hungry, I started grabbing plates from the conveyor belt the moment I sat down. I think the waitress was very annoyed at me because I was digging around for my student card whilst stuffing a piece of sushi into my mouth.

After an hour, this was what we polished.

You can't really tell from the photo but there were more plates and bowls of steamed egg and cha soba on the right side. I think we ate close to 20 plates. So. Freaking. Full. You have no idea.

Also, I fell out of my seat because I missed a step which resulted in a huge scratch on the back of my thigh.

Me: I fell down :'(
M: Walau how old already

Huihui was all o.O when she saw me fell out of the seat in slow-mo. She couldn't figure out how in the world does one fall out of a perfectly stationary chair. Haha, perks of having a bad sense of balance and clumsiness.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Happened last night. Most ridiculous thing EVER.

Lol. You know you have great friends when they are the ones who over estimate your lack of touch with modern technology.

Somewhere in my neighbourhood, a person with really bad music taste is blasting dance music like it's 12am at a packed club. Also, a bunch of rambunctious youths are screaming out their conversations at the playground under my block.

I stay on the freaking 11th floor and it's currently 5.30pm. COME ON PEOPLE. COME ON.

SAD

I think I just found my limit for gore.

Splattering guts and innards? Okay. Severed limbs? Okay. Rotting flesh? Also okay. I mean if you ate all of the above I'm okay with it too. BUT when you eat a bleeding heart with crunchy sound effects that sound like you're munching on celery sticks...well...nice to meet you too, limit.

Thanks ah Supernatural S8.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ab: Shall we meet for awhile anyway?
Me: Can la but I thought it's J's birthday party?
Ab: Will you come though? Hahaha
Me: You already put hahaha at the back. You know I don't like parties.
Ab: I know you don't so how.

I suck at socializing with a capital S. Coupled with the fact that meeting new people/hanging out with people I'm not familiar intimidates me a lot more than I'd like to admit.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My audit lecturer slipped us a piece of local media gossip during lecture. Apparently, 曹国辉 might have had an illegitimate child somewhere.

Me: I always thought that he might have been a closet gay.
Hui: No la! He used to date 郑秀珍 what.
Me: 郑秀珍? Who's that?
Hui: The one that has her own business now?
Me: Oh you mean 何仙姑?
Hui: Bahahahaha you know you just revealed your age right.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Warning: Depressing to read.

Feeling extremely moody nowadays. Not sure if it's PMS or what but I tend to throw a pity party for myself whenever I'm alone. Not necessarily alone-alone but when I'm disconnected from my surroundings enough to have my moping ability take over and pwn me. I make a list of all the things I dislike about myself, then a list of  how I could change those things I dislike, followed by moping over why I haven't been able to do my best to change stuff I don't like. Go on the internet, look at stuff that makes me feel worse about myself, and then repeat the moping process all over again. And again and again and again.

I feel like talking to someone about it would probably make me feel better but when I'm in moping mode I don't think anyone would give two hoots about my problems anyway, so I don't. And for the other times outside of moping, I simply forget that I just spent most of my day sulking and worrying and feeling sad. Also, I try to minimize human interaction whenever I'm in a funk cause I don't want to get agitated when I don't receive the response I want. And to reduce the snarky level of my replies.

I've contemplated with the idea of writing it down here for a few days but debated against it because I don't like to talk about sad stuff because talking about it and thinking about it only perpetuates it more. Also it's depressing to read. But I'm almost at my limit and venting to inanimate object eliminates the chance of getting aggravated by less than ideal replies so...there. A whole bunch of word vomit about how depressed and sad and moody I've been feeling for no particular reason but the fact that I am throwing myself daily pity parties. Why can't this party be the kind that I am intimidated by and reject to attend?

When are you ever ever going to give your fullest effort in getting what you want in order to make you happy and not convince yourself that mediocrity is equally as satisfying and that you'll never be able to get what you want anyway? You want it, you have to work for it. And moping about it for almost a week now isn't going to get you nowhere but straight to sadness and more sadness and just more moodiness.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, writing about it really helped. Wonder why I've debated against it in the first place.

Also the blackstone's statutes book for LBO has a ridiculous waiting time. 4 to 6 weeks? Come on. Do you need me to help water that tree you are growing?

Snarky snarky someone's snarky.

SHOWS

I've accumulated a list of ongoing dramas that I am currently on a stake out on.

1) Bones S8
2) Criminal Minds S8
3) HIMYM S8
4) Modern Family S4
5) Castle S5
6) Dexter S7
7) Supernatural S8
8) The Walking Dead S3
9) The Mentalist S5
10) ...Haven't thought of what would complete my top 10 list but I'm thinking of  Sherlock. Or Sons of Anarchy.

Somewhere out there I can hear bel going "You know this is not something to be proud of right".

Come on! These are really good shows!

Anyway, my...ability to lose stuff even with me being on top of it 100% has died down for quite awhile until it decided to act up again recently. I lost my ez link card last week and I lost my watsons card this week. I pray extremely hard to my sub-consciousness that I don't lose anything else because I don't think I have anything else to misplace that is easily (albeit very heartbreaking) replaceable.

Pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease.

ALIVE

Guess who got to see Taeyang topless and twerking on stage?

ME ME ME ME ME!!! Hahaha. Went for Big Bang's Alive something Samsung something concert last Friday. No idea what the concert was actually called but the bff and I were super super super stoked in the months building up to concert day. STOKED!!!!!

We bought tickets for the standing pen aka mosh pit, which means we were super close to the stage. So close, I could see Taeyang's sweat glistening his perfect abs when he took off his shirt. Fo' real. The whole concert was so so so so freaking awesome la!! I really don't know how to describe it detail because all I could remember was me dancing/fist pumping, thoroughly enjoying myself, and then occasionally having those "is this really happening right now?" moments when I look around and try to sear everything into my mind.

Awesome. So much awesome that night.

And for anyone out there who's wondering how being in a standing pen/mosh pit feels like, lemme break it down for you. It's just a lot of sweat, hair, boobs, and ass all around. Plus lots of awkward eye contact with 15 year old fan girls. Hahaha.

There was a slightly embarrassing moment though. Halfway through the concert I caught myself in someone's camera screen and I thought it was ger trying to take a photo of us, so I smiled and the person captured the photo. Well... That was until I realise that the person had accidentally pressed the front camera button.

So I guess someone out there has a photo of me smiling in their phone. Good job to me.

Okay enough rambling photo time!

YAY!!!!!!!!!

PANTS

Have I mentioned how freaking hilarious Bossypants by Tina Fey is? Probably yes. But have I mentioned it enough? Lol.

(about elections) Instead of talking about issues, everybody was trying to prove how "down-home" they were. "I'm just like you" was the sub-text of every speech.
Politics and prostitution have to be the only jobs where inexperience is considered a virtue. In what other profession would you brag about not knowing stuff? "I'm not one of those fancy Harvard heart surgeons. I'm just an unlicensed plumber with a dream and I'd like to cut your chest open." The crowd cheers.

That might just be the funniest excerpt from the book. Or not. I still have exactly 57 pages to go. This book's a gem on gloomy days.

"To get Blake Lively's sophisticated sex appeal, stock up on low neck tops, mini skirts, and sky high heels."

Sophisticated leh. Hahahaha. Funniest thing I've heard on television in a long time.

TOWN

I don't think I've ever spend my Saturday night at town in the last 2 years or so. Or maybe I did. Did I?

Says a lot about my social life.

Went out with ze best girlfriend last sat after giving tuition, and we finally decided to haul our asses out of tampines. Or as she puts it, "Is you that finally decided to venture out of tamp lor."

Popped by the indoor stadium to collect her F1 tickets before heading off to bugis, where we finally satisfied our craving for awesome japanese food. When you see a ton of japanese in a jap restaurant, you know for sure their food is legit.

Snacked on a skewer of bacon enoki wrap while we waited for our rice to cook. I have no idea what it is called but it's a big bucket of rice + magic broth + salmon/chicken/seafood and you have to wait for 25 minutes for it to cook. Damn friggin' good.

Headed over to town, where I got a town 101 course. Why would I need a town 101 course you say? It's because when we came out of Ion and saw a big ass "Wheelock Place" sign plastered on the building opposite us, I turned around and said "Ohh, so this is Wheelock. Not the place with the big wheel...what's that place again?" (G giving me the how-are-we-friends-again-face) "Marina Square.".

That's why.

Walked a lot more and we got hungry again, so G suggested having supper at Chijmes.

Settled for an Australian bar after some dude in a sombrero outside a Mexican bar (which was having a hell of a party by the way) tried to start a train dance with me. Haha. Kinda wished it happen though, it reaaally looked like a lot of fun in there.

Ate and talk and ate and talk, listened to the live band from the neighbouring bar (totally pwned the live band at our bar) before taking a ton of polariods and bombing my remaining cash on cab. My wallet can officially star in Brokeback Mountain.

Wasted 2 polaroids because I insisted on "Eh I want to sit on the left side because that's my better side!!" before proceeding to take 2 consecutive shots of this shit.

Me: Looks like I have to forsake my good side.
G: Hahahaha ya.

G took over the camera and got my face in the shot.

Fave shot.

Very enjoyable night!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

School started yesterday and it was pretty good. Made a new friend during ESAP class and spotted the cute guy in my year 1 class before going to Ikea with Huihui after lessons.

Me: You saw the guy in my year 1 pbf class at the bus stop I told you about? He very cute hor.
H: *Judging my choice of words very hard* Nope.
Me: No no I got two types of standards one. This is the mainstream cute.

Time to hang up the notice board I lugged from Ikea - Hougang - back home.

Feeling oddly psyched for school.

HK

Actually, it was more like HK-SZ-HK-MC-HK. I think we passed through the customs like 10 times or something. No joke.

So since I've decided to make a conscious effort in recording my trips, here it goes.

Day 1.

We arrived in HK around 6pm, all hungry and irritated and extremely tired. Nothing like a bunch of fidgety and loud uncles who like to intrude on your limited leg space to start your trip. Haha. Took a bus to the nearest MTR station, armed ourselves with an Octopus card (their EZ link card) and made our way to Shenzhen.

Took a train to Luo Wu where we crossed the border. That was also my cue to start carrying my backpack in front of me. I was super paranoid that my bag will be slashed and my  passport taken away from me please.

Cabbed to our hotel, settled down, and went out for dinner. We weren't brave enough to try out the local food so we went to Ajisen. Maybe it was because of the exhaustion, but it was sooo good. We had the exact same thing twice in the three nights we spent there.

Day 2-3.

Honestly, I don't even remember exactly what we did other than shop and shop and shop some more. On the third night I told Chong Ning, "I never thought I would say this but I think I've had enough of shopping." At one point I developed a headache during the Nth shopping trip for the day. Fo' real.

The only downside is that we couldn't try on most of our purchases because the shops didn't allow it. But our hotel was just across the street, so...we didn't really mind la.

Highlights of Shenzhen: Seeing a little boy peeing at the sidewalk of the main streets.

This was what I told Huihui whilst bolting away from said peeing boy. "I thought it was his finger lor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"......yup.

Day 4.
On the train back to HK

Took a train back to HK and we all passed out on the train. Alighted at Mongkok East/West (?) and took a cab to our apartment.

Super duper small. For 3 nights, I wasn't entirely sure if I washed my hair properly because I couldn't fully extend my arms in the toilet. But it was clean and comfortable though, so no complaints!

Settled down and headed out for lunch at Tsui Wah where I  had the greatest custard bun ever. Toasted bun + butter + condense milk drenched all over it = the bomb diggity.

Shopped at Langham Mall (?) where they stock every skincare/beauty brand that ever existed. They even have Monki and H&M! Monki had already started selling A/W clothes so spent most of our time browsing through the sale rack in H&M.

Day 5.

Took a train to Tsim Sha Tsui where we went to this beauty/medical dispensary that has the lowest prices for beauty brands in HK. Everything there was at least 50% off the price in SG, so it was little wonder why the place was so friggin' swamped.

At one point I heard a guy saying "Yao mm yao gam kwa zhung ah" whilst trying not to loose his ecstatic girlfriend in the shop. Lol.

Also, I bought 鸡蛋仔 twice in under 5 minutes because I dropped my 1/4 eaten one in a clothing store. Yea, I brought my smoothness overseas. Freshly made 鸡蛋仔 were damn good! Sorta like pandan waffles, but less oily, more crispy on the outside, and fluffier on the inside.

Walked to the ferry terminal where Lin Feng and Linda Chung met in Ka Hou Yuet Yun. Told Huihui that they might play the chorus of 愛不疚 when you board the boat. Imagine how cool it would be if you board the boat and suddenly the speakers go "Fong sao, fong hoi sor yao~~".

Took the ferry to Central, which was pretty cool. They had shut off an entire block's worth of roads and the place was just PACKED with maids. Like for real the maids were just laying on cardboard boxes out on the roads and lepaking.  I  even saw a group of maids giving each other pedicures outside a Yves Saint Laurent store.

At this point we were pretty much done with walking already. I severely severely underestimated the amount of walking needed to be done in HK. Settled for the first restaurant we came across just so we could rest our feet.

Went over to the gigantic Forever 21, which by the way was more expensive than the online prices, before we headed home.

Too damn tired to remember anything else we did.

Day 6.

Chong Ning decided to stay home because she went to Macau before, so it was just Huihui and I!

Had dessert for breakfast at 许留山 where we had mango with mango juice and glutinous rice balls. The glutinous rice balls were pretty meh, but the mango juice was just awesome. The juice was more like puree and  it was 100% mango with every mouth. So good.

Headed to Tsim Sha Tsui again to get more stuff, where we walked a ton more to the China Ferry Terminal and bought tickets to Macau.

Doremon display at the ferry terminal.

We might look super psyched in the photo above but honestly the weather was a killer and in reality, this was my face most of the time.

I told Huihui this "Quick take a photo of my buey song face to remind us of the super zhua weather."

Super grateful for Huihui and her exceptional map reading skills and sense of direction. If it was up to me, I think we would have to swim to Macau lor. Haha. So after 75 minutes of rough waters, we were in Macau!

Took a 1/2 hour cab ride from the main island to Coloane island, where we went up a mountain to eat at the famous Fernando's Restaurant! Read so many good reviews online about how awesome their Portuguese cuisine was and we weren't disappointed.

IT WAS SO SO SO SOOOOO GOOD.

I ordered a charcoal barbecued 1/2 chicken and Huihui ordered a fried pork steak smothered in garlic sauce.

Wa piang the chicken skin tasted like ba kwa for goodness sake. How is it possible!?!? I was super tempted to order the roasted pork after polishing off my chicken and 1/4 of Huihui's pork steak, but my bursting stomach resisted.

This was the look on my face after the very very satisfying meal.

Photobucket

Damn it the photos are making me super hungry right now.

The restaurant had a wall full of tips filled with different currencies which was pretty interesting! Spotted some SGD.

So generous.

Took a bus down the mountain back to the main island of Macau. Went to Koi Kee to buy a ton of 老婆饼,杏仁饼,凤梨酥...etc to lug back to HK. Just for 老婆饼, we bought 10 boxes. 10. Who does that?

Huihui figured out how to read the bus directory and got us back to the ferry terminal just in time for the 8pm departure, and the most hilarious thing happened while we were waiting to board.

The seats were back facing each other and Huihui was leaning a little too far back, so I told her to be careful just in case she bumps into the person sitting behind her.

The following scenario ensues.

Me: Eh don't lean too far back. Got people.
Hui: Huh? *Turns around* Oh chey I thought it was some random sweaty guy. Ang moh never mind la!

And then she tries to convince me that everything he does is less annoying than an average person because he is Caucasian. Lolol.

Me: Look at your ang moh's socks. Mid calf and stripey.
Hui: It's a fashion statement.
Me: What if it's a local wearing that?
Hui:...........AA.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Pictures when we were on the ferry back to HK!

Okay the last photo might be a little too act cute but I was just trying to relieve my neo-print days.

Reached the ferry terminal, found the MTR station and went back to our apartment.

Packed our luggage and passed out. Had to wake up early for dim sum!

Day 7.

Woke up friggin' diggity early to queue up for the famous Tim Ho Wan! Queued for about 45 minutes before we were let in and it was all worth it.

The char siew bao.......god. It was like they were baked with fairy dust and blessed by angels before they were served. Same goes for the har kaw and siew mai and cheong fun, which were stuffed with so. many. fresh. prawns. I could eat there everyday for the rest of my life.

Went back to our apartment, nua-ed till 1ish before we took a bus to the airport where we...

My awesome camera skills with Chong Ning!

....almost missed our boarding time and got stranded. I don't even know how that happened because we were 3 hours early lor!

But somewhere along me watching a bunch of youtube videos while waiting for the gang to finish browsing through duty free stores, and Huihui queuing for MacDonalds', we almost missed the final call of our flight. Hahaha.

But after a lot of sprinting and cursing and praying, we didn't! So lucky us!!!

Super-heng-we-didn't-miss-our-flight-faces.

Sat in front of a bunch of hyper active kids who have a penchant for kicking so....the flight back wasn't exactly the most comfortable.

Reached SG at 10pm-ish, bought some more stuff at the duty free shop, bought my hungry ass a McSpicy and shared a cab home with Huihui.

Passed out after I mildly unpacked.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Long ass post that concludes my 7-days trip in SZ-HK-MC-HK.

4 more days till my 2 day school week starts! 0830-1300,  Tuesday and Saturday.

Will be stoked. As soon as I haul my ass out of the holiday mood.

ALMOST

I am the most efficient and decisive at the oddest times of the day.

I went through my almost exploding wardrobe and cleared out stuff I know I'll never ever wear. 15 minutes later, bam. I have two bagfuls of clothing ready to be given away. Plus I finally got round to packing the random corner of my room. It's the corner where you throw all the random stuff you haven't found a location for and watch them pile up into a daunting mountain of work over the months. But I got that stuff done at 3 in the morning yesterday.

Hmmm.

2 more days before I leave and I've already started packing. Slightly. I actually like packing. Something about eliminating things based on necessity and packing the bare minimum (so that I can fit more stuff when I fly back) makes me feel accomplished. Unpacking? Not too much.

Pretty excited for the trip! Just have to arm myself with maps and pray that I develop a hyper sense of direction during the flight. Ha ha ha.

H: You cannot depend on CL leh she's not so good with directions.
Me: Ha ha ha. You'll be stuck with 2 direction idiots then.

BOSSY

My tuition student just said the funniest thing I've heard all week. "'Ronaldinho is just Drogba with the mouth protruding." Lol I laughed so hard because her face was so deadpan when she made that comment.

Second funniest was Pres's birthday card to me. "Since I care about your birthday more than you do I shall keep things short. Happy anniversary to your umbilical cord separation." He passed me that along with my present, which was wrapped in newspaper and contained in a sheng shiong plastic bag. I almost thought he got groceries for me. Luckily it wasn't. Because I prefer NTUC.

Anyway, I really really really appreciate that he got me the book by Tina Fey. I've wanted to read that for agessssSSSsss. I'm thoroughly appreciating the present by restraining myself from going through it in 1.5 days. Gonna savour it during my flight to HK. Awwwww yeah.

Also, I remember what belly said a few weeks ago. "You want to know what kind of guys she is attracted to? Just pick the ugliest guy out of the group." Now I feel like I'm having a Phil Dunphy moment.

Phil Dunphy: I'll admit it. I am turned on by powerful women. Michelle Obama, Oprah, Condoleezza Rice, Serena Williams...Wait a minute.

Lol sorry Bang Yong Guk. You rap really well though.

ANGLE

It's almost the end of 2012 already and you would think all assessment books' answers would come with workings.

I just spent the entire Sunday doing trigonometry. I did enough questions about angle of depression to actually BE in a state of depression. Also, I continued watching The Godfather Part 2. Lol.

And I'm still not done with solving a thousand trigo questions. Godddddddddddd.

OFFER

Was watching The Godfather halfway and wondering why the heck a young Al Pacino looks so familiar.

Alex Turner, that's why. I got that about 2 hours into the movie.

So I googled "alex turner al pacino" and got a tumblr post that says "Am I the only one who thinks that Alex Turner looks like a young Al Pacino?".

And I got a hit. Well well well.

The movie's awesome, by the way. I can see why now. Other than the sister looking slightly creepy being skinny+pregnant, everything else was awesome.

WHAT

Embarrassing moment of the day:

Me buying fruit (okay it was bananas again), feeling quite contented that he was not there because it has been a week since I semi ruined fruit buying for myself. I desperately wanted to be in and out in 5 seconds but I paid $2 instead of $2.60 so the dude was looking at me like "yo it's 2.60 man. Can't you count?" okay maybe not that mean but I was trying to meet 5 seconds. And of course I panicked, took back my $2 and gave him a shitty $10 instead. So I passed the 5 seconds mark and someone went "Meishan you end school so early today ah?" and I felt my spine shrink back in a little out of embarrassment because 1) I thought he had a twin brother and 2) He could actually recognise me. God where is a hole when you need one.

Frustrating moment of the day:
Me spending 30 minutes trying to figure out my password. And username. For my school's portal. I clicked the "Forgot your password? Click here and we will direct you to a YOUR MEMORY IS BAD AND SO YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD page" which they tried to make me recall my student identification number. Oh my goodness. More recalling and fumbling around my desk trying to find official papers that would state any clues of what those 3 were but I could only find 1. So the redirected page couldn't help me either. I was doomed. I needed to access that damn portal to get my results on Friday. But somehow I manage to recall my school's email account and by a miracle I found my way in there and managed to get in the portal after all.

Only to realise I had a word document named "PASSWORDS" with all the usernames and passwords of every other account I ever owned.

Wtf.

You know what. How about embarrassing moment of the day 2. I bought 2 boxes of a variation of something I really really need. Like buying shampoo when I need conditioner but with something else. Curse of the sales. I really thought that I saved on this. DAMN IT

FRIDAY

I just had the most random friday.

Met the boys early with going to katong for korean bbq in mind but...well. When prest busted out "Hmm you sure tampines no korean bbq? Wanna go check the malls first?", the following ensued.

Bel: We are not going to venture out of tampines right.
Me: Yup.

So we ended up having dinner at Nando's, lol.

Anyhow, halfway through the dinner, this conversation came up.

Pres: You are not going to pay for today's dinner okay it's your early birthday celebration.
Ab: Since when! (looks at me) It's not even your birthday yet! It's suppose to be next week!
Pres: No it's today!
Ab: Then why you never tell me?

Photobucket
Me.

Hahahahaha.

So, why is this a random friday you ask? Let's look at the following events that took place.

1. Belly sneaked away for 5 minutes of illegal gambling
2. I went to buy bananas
3. Realized that there is no twin brother situation going on and I just ruined fruit buying for me
4. Went to the park to do pull ups (well the boys did I just watch and counted)
5. My cramps acted up

Of course number 5 had to happen. It's not enough that tampons are part of our conversation, I have to cramp in front of them too. Yeah, that's how I roll.

So the boys sent me home while I walk semi-bent over and hollering about how I want to rip out my own uterus. That's normal. And when I reach home this is how I spend the night.

And the following Sat and Sun. OHGODWHYISTHISHAPPENINGTOME

BLUE

Justin Bartha has some seriously blue eyes man. All I could concentrate on was how friggin' blue his eyes are in The Rebound. Damn. I wonder if there are smurfs living in there or what, it's almost too blue to be true.

Also, I have a tendency to look at people (mostly girls) that I find interesting way for too long than the socially accepted 4.32 seconds. Pass that and I am giving out a creepy-stalker-is-she-lesbian? stare. I need an internal alarm that goes off like "You're staring. Stop it." every time I do that. Preferably in a very intimidating Liam Neeson like voice when he threatens the kidnappers in Taken.

BANANA

My plan after I reach home was this.

1) Go toilet.
2) Withdraw money.
3) Buy banana.
4) Cut hair.

I only managed to complete the first task. The atm machine wasn't working "temporarily" but I really believe that was a conspiracy against me and bananas. I had no cash with me so I couldn't do 3). Plus the hair salon beside the fruit stall was closed. And then jumong only aired for 30minutes today because of olympics.

Am I the only one that is not caught up in the olympic hype? Hmm.

Last week when I bought bananas,

Aunty at the stall: 哇你买给几个人吃?
Me: Err..............hahaha 我一个人吃......
Joel: 没有买给爸爸吃?

And then we chatted for awhile.

If he didn't initiate the convo I would be quite hesitant to be the one initiating it. Only cause he looks a lot a lot a lot like his brother and most of the time I'm trying to figure out whether it's the brother or him but I couldn't so I just concentrate on picking out the best looking banana to avoid making small talk with someone that looks like someone I know.

I have done that more than I would like to admit and those are not my proudest moments.

I don't want to jeopardize any future fruit buying experiences.

This shit is bananas, b-a-n-a-n-a-s.

DRAMA

I'm not quite done with my movie phase, but I've decided to switch over to HK dramas after sitting through 2 consecutive shit ass movies. I need me some palette cleansers pronto.

Honestly 2 sub-par movies wouldn't affect me that much, but  these 2 are really the down at the bottom of Satan's unflushed toilet. Dawn of the Dead actually had the potential to be really cool a la The Walking Dead. But wtf the zombies in there have no handicap at all. They are like a breed between Usain Bolt and the zombies in I am Legend, minus the vulnerability to sunlight. Where can like this!! Plus at the end everyone either dies/turns into a zombie. SHIT MOVIE.

And as for The Machinist, I originally thought that anything featured under the same category as Shutter Island would be equally as thrilling, but that's also another shit assumption I made. Apart from Christian Bale's appalling ability to starve himself so skinny, nothing else is exciting. It's just about a guy feeling really guilty + acute insomnia. Tell me why this requires 102 minutes I'll never get back.

Okay. End of my movie rant.

But 回到三國 and 飛虎 seem like really nice dramas up till now. So...I guess my palette cleanser choices are working. 回到三國  is ridiculously funny. Highlight of my week was watching 劉備 screaming sei bat por. Lolol I don't know how they are going to top that.

Plus 飛虎 has scenes of topless super fit + real cute snipers bathing. In the FIRST episode. Tell me that isn't a sign of an awesome drama. Those guns are no kidding man. And his gam fit body is gloriously hanging off the football goal post now.

Photobucket

But these are on going dramas so my anticipation levels are being tested again.

Plus it's like the US networks are concurrently withholding all my favourite dramas' new seasons. HIMYM, Modern Family, New Girl, The Client List, Bones blah blah blah. :'''''''''(

Anticipation test difficulty level: Impossibruuuuuuuuuuu!

HOTMAIL RAGE

I was just finished with my tuition notes and I wanted to send them out when my mother switched off the internet connection when she was done with her stuff. And so I switched the internet back up but I couldn't attach shit. Hotmail just keeps telling me that the file was too large. It is a 5 page Microsoft word document about salt preparation. Don't try to smoke me. Bitch.

And then hotmail decides to flip out on me and not work at all. I refreshed but I cannot access the fucking thing because it keeps redirecting me to an "Oops! Google Chrome could not find your hotmail website because fuck you and fuck your salt notes I don't feel like sending out no science right now so you just have to deal with it. And also I don't care if it's 2.40am. You will go to bed feeling tired and miserable about your unsent documents." page.

I wanted to send them through gmail instead but..............I cannot remember the complete emails of the people I want to send them to.

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I shall go to bed now feeling like this.

RITE

What's scary during an exorcism? The contortion of the possessed.
What's scarier than a young girl contorting? A very pregnant young girl contorting.
What's scarier than a very pregnant young girl contorting? Hannibal Lecter contorting.

Silence of the Lambs has forever seared the image of him skinning a man's face off and then wearing it as a mask into my memory. Along with the rest of the body's skin being hung up as a canvas.

"I do wish we could chat longer, but I am having an old friend for dinner."

So I do have a penchant for horror films. And war/genocide films. And whatever the category is for films like Butterfly Effect and Shutter Island and The Mist alike. Oh, and horror films. Especially those with exorcism/black magic in them cause it just makes the whole thing much more scarier.

Now if only I could convince anyone, just anyone, to accompany me to catch horror movies in cinemas. Because I can manage watching horror films in the comfort of my room (and security of my holy blanket) and not in a dark cinema with speakers on bass steroids. Plus quivering girls huddling into their protective boyfriends comforting them makes me feel scared and lonely at the same time. I don't like feeling sad and lonely at the same time.

The Rite's not too bad for an exorcism film. It's one of the rare ones with a happy ending. Plus the dialogues are much more scarier sans the excessive use of foul language like The Devil Inside. Towards the end everyone is just taking turns to be possessed and they all die in a car crash. Shit ending. I nearly hurled my laptop out of the window because the ending was so shitty but I couldn't because my windows have narrow grilles so my laptop wouldn't fit.

So......................okay.

Time for a gif to cheer things up. I present to you, Skrillex and the bee.

ORIGINAL

Situations when you get to observe Meishanosaurous behaving in her natural habitat:

1) At home
2) When with close friends
3) Overseas (or anywhere else I am certain that the chances of me bumping into someone I know is 0.00001%)

Like what Nicki said, let's go to the beach, each, lets go get away.

So I went to JB.

Had stone grill for lunch and it was probably not very wise of me to order salmon. Oil spattering was no joke and I regretted very much not wearing jeans because what's worse than hot oil burning your hand is hot oil landing on your thighs. But the food was good though, and cheap! So that sort of balanced it out. Cheaper food for burnt thighs.

Went to try on some clothes before walking into cotton on to try on some shoes. I checking out how I looked with the shoes on in the mirror when I realised that I didn't button up my fly properly. This particular pair of shorts has 4 buttons for a fly instead of a regular zip, and I forgot to button up the bottom-est button.

I turned around, and said this to huihui "Eh I forgot to button up my shorts so I am going to do so discreetly. Walk beside me and act normal."

With that, I very discreetly tried to button up my shorts but it wasn't budging at all. So it looks like I am struggling to do something to my crotch which I am not and it just looks very wrong. After 3 minutes of intense struggling trying to button up the damn thing it still wasn't working. I hate freshly washed denim. Plus I was starting to attract weird stares from people.

Huihui noticed the stares too so she just looked at me and said with a you-are-the-most-ridic-person-ever-and-this-is-so-funny tone "Wa 你还没有好啊. *sniggers*" And so I gave up my attempt and continued to walk around with one button unbuttoned. Anyway it was at the bottom so no one would actually spot it.

It wasn't until later that I realise I could have gone into cotton on's dressing room to deal with the button drama.

Plus we watched ice age 4. Drake and Nicki Minaj were voicing teenage mammoths. Lol.

Okay this is very random.

MODERN

Mitch: We took lily on her first train ride. Just a quick trip to Chinatown.
Cam: I was worried she would think we were taking her back to Vietnam, but she seemed okay.
Mitch: Yeah, yeah. Possibly because she was in infant when she left Vietnam. Also Vietnam is not China.
Cam: Well, I had a lollipop just in case.

Cam: I have an idea. Why don't we ride the next train until it catches up?
Mitch: They don't catch up. It's called a collision.
Cam: Well do you have a better idea?

HAHAHAHA IS THERE A FUNNIER DIALOGUE OUT THERE OR WHAT.

And also because there's Kevin Hart in this episode who happens to be my fave black comedian...whose name I had to google "short black comedian" in order to type this.

Modern family is awesome.

AWKWARD

I am bad with dealing with awkward situations. No make that very very extremely bad. More often than not, I'll just be super eager to please and make agree to something I will most probably regret.

Aka "Hey do you want to meet ___ and ___ for dinner sometime?"
Instead of saying upfront that I didn't want to meet one of ___ and that I feel guilty having to reject his request, I replied the following.

"How about we 2 just grab dinner some time? Timing's better to coordinate anyway."

Photobucket

Let's just hope that he asked it as a cordial invitation and really had no intention to follow up on his words because if he acts otherwise, I will have to drag my sorry ass and lay in the coffin I built.

Damn me and my incapability to deal with awkward situations. JUST. DAMN.

TSE

How did I end up watching a 1 hour 23 minutes long video on Youtube with Nicholas Tse talking about entrepreneurship and the importance of education and how to succeed in life when I started off looking for a clip of him speaking in english on ANTM Season 18. He looks damn good by the way.

And Bones Season 7's ending is just........Shit. SHIT. It infuriates me so much when the whole season has only 13 episodes and the ending is so shitty. Suspense is not about spanning a case across 3/4/god knows how many episodes and across 2 seasons and withholding the conclusion to no end. Pick up a James Morrell book please. URGH.

I don't know what infuriates me more. My favourite drama series having a shitty suspense plot or that I speak about a television show with so much passion. Or that Nicholas just made me feel like I am a lost sheep in search for my true calling in life.

Damn you, Nic. (Yes we are on first name calling basis because I just sat through an hour's video of you talking about how you found your success, Nic)

COUNTRY

I truly truly believe that certain things are just damn bloody fated. Like how I would end up singing karaoke at 2 in the afternoon with Huihui, my primary school friend whom I have not met in ages, and her cousin whom I am going to Hong Kong with.

Lol don't worry, I kinda surprised myself too.

Catching up was great and laughing about the same things when we were 10 except with better vocab and experience to draw from just made it x100 better. In the words of Chong Min, 我们都是十年不变.

I could still remember the days when she+her bro, together with me+my bro, would wind up throwing our shoes at each other at the playground. The game was to take out (or stink out) your opponent by throwing your shoes at them. Do not ask me how we came up with this game though, times of walkman and dial-up connection creates the most unexpected forms of entertainment.

After 5 hours of intense karaoke, we were one too many honey water away from exploding so we decided to bounce. Hui2 and I went for dinner, Chong Min went for another intense round of karaoke (good luck to her throat) and Chong Ling went home.

During our dinner conversation and I was telling Hui2 how excited I am about everything because they just gelled so damn well together and how I was so so so grateful for things to work out the way they did. Fo' real I am really reaaaallly thankful and just over the moon about things.

Que the happy dance please.

Okay and these are some random updates about what's going on in the last few months.
