What's scary during an exorcism? The contortion of the possessed.
What's scarier than a young girl contorting? A very pregnant young girl contorting.
What's scarier than a very pregnant young girl contorting? Hannibal Lecter contorting.
Silence of the Lambs has forever seared the image of him skinning a man's face off and then wearing it as a mask into my memory. Along with the rest of the body's skin being hung up as a canvas.
"I do wish we could chat longer, but I am having an old friend for dinner."
So I do have a penchant for horror films. And war/genocide films. And whatever the category is for films like Butterfly Effect and Shutter Island and The Mist alike. Oh, and horror films. Especially those with exorcism/black magic in them cause it just makes the whole thing much more scarier.
Now if only I could convince anyone, just anyone, to accompany me to catch horror movies in cinemas. Because I can manage watching horror films in the comfort of my room (and security of my holy blanket) and not in a dark cinema with speakers on bass steroids. Plus quivering girls huddling into their protective boyfriends comforting them makes me feel scared and lonely at the same time. I don't like feeling sad and lonely at the same time.
The Rite's not too bad for an exorcism film. It's one of the rare ones with a happy ending. Plus the dialogues are much more scarier sans the excessive use of foul language like The Devil Inside. Towards the end everyone is just taking turns to be possessed and they all die in a car crash. Shit ending. I nearly hurled my laptop out of the window because the ending was so shitty but I couldn't because my windows have narrow grilles so my laptop wouldn't fit.
So......................okay.
Time for a gif to cheer things up. I present to you, Skrillex and the bee.
