I blame it on the time I started on the post. Lol.
Contemplating attending class tomorrow because...
Oh yeah. /inserts emoji wearing sunglasses.
Anyway I haven't done a UFC update for me and the disinterested majority in a while so here's a quick one!
1) GSP took a vacation from his long reigning rule over the welterweight champion belt. So next in place would be Hendricks fighting Lawler to fill in the spot. Pretty exciting!
2) I honestly wonder how the fuck Bigfoot and Mark Hunt came out of that fight conscious and still standing. Probably the most memorable fight I've seen all year.
3) Miesha Tate can really take a beating.
4) Ronda Rousey kicks ass in the most awesome way possible.
5) Have I already mentioned something about Velazquez vs JDS 2? I feel like I did. Cain is an absolute beast + I have a soft spot for JDS.
6) I wonder how Chris Weidman's shin felt right after he broke Silva's leg with it.
7) Anderson Silva's leg. Just a head's up, you might feel a little squirmy after watching it.

Okay very squirmy.
ON TO FIGHT NIGHT!
I bought the tickets probably...less than 10 hours after they started selling them. So you could imagine how I felt when Ellenberger dropped out of the card halfway due to some hamstring injury. It went something like...what the actual fuck/are you serious?/serious-serious?/OI ELLENBERGER WAS THE MAIN POINT OF THE CARD LA!!! /rage face
But. Okay actually there are no buts to this because I was really looking forward to Ellenberger but I'm over it already so next! There's a Singaporean fighter on the card, so that should be interesting.
And...Do you know that there is a bride kidnapping tradition in Kyrgyzstan?
Kyrgyzstan is pretty unique. Landlocked between China and Russia, is predominantly a Muslim country, Russian is the official language, and the people of Kyrgyzstan look Mongolian. But back to kidnapping. Instead of proposing with a bended knee, the groom and his groomsmen will just snatch the girl off the streets, forcefully bring her back home, and then get his mom/aunts/women of the family to convince the girl to stay and get married...all while the girl is violently kicking and crying and trying to escape. After the girl agrees to the marriage, the male elders of the family will then drive to the girl's home with gifts and ask for their newly made in-laws' blessings. The whole "bride kidnapping" culture presumably stemmed from a solution for couples in love to escape arranged marriages to other people that are fixed by their parents.
I was on a slight documentary binge for the past week so I have a lot of these...not-immediately-or-foreseeable-useful information.
This post is really...mixed.
CAN'T WAIT FOR TOMORROW! SUPER STOKED.
