Gangland Part 2

Homg after 3 days of having Gangland marathons... I thought that I've been desensitized to gang violence. Cause every other episode they would normally just tell you how they shoot and kill snitches (people who tell on them), beat people up violently, sell drugs and do prostitution...blah blah. It's kinda typical among all the gangs so it does get a bit normal after a few episodes.

Until this episode. My goodness it's like the realization of saw (the movie), but with much less...理智。

So one inmate made some homemade alcohol in his cell and got a few of his friends (also inmates) drunk. They jumped on a prison guard and took away his cell keys, proceeded to unlock every other cell and free all their fellow inmates, and then took all the guards (that they could catch) hostage.

Soon a full scale riot was taking place with like 1,100 inmates running freely around the prison. They went to the prison pharmacy first and started taking pills. Once they were all high on drugs, that's when the murdering started.

They found themselves welding torches that were left from maintenance men and used those to get to other prison inmates who were housed in protective custody. These 'special' inmates were separated from the majority because they would constantly get beaten or face a high risk of being stabbed/killed ah. They were all snitches, rapists, pedophiles and what not.

So...one inmate who was participating in this riot saw one of those 'special' inmates decapitated, his head being as a bowling ball and then later being stuck a broom stick and paraded down the prison hallway. He also saw inmates with screwdrivers being stuck through their ears and eyes, inmates being burnt till, in his own words "black-black, crisp, charred up".

The prison guard was bringing the filming crew around the prison to show them where it took place, and he opened a particular cell and said..

"This inmate was either doing time for rape, child abuse , or he was a snitch. *points to the floor with a big black patch* There's the inmate."

They apparently took him out of his cell and burnt him into the floor using welding torches. And if this wasn't the worst, you have to remember that there isn't just ONE cell. So the neighbouring inmate had to hear his neighbour being killed, and anticipate his own death because they were going down the line. Imagine the terror.

The prison guard also showed the shooting crew axe marks on the floor, where they were cutting up the inmate. They would cut off an arm, cut off a foot, cut off an ear, and because they had welding torches, they would then cauterize (burn the skin to stop it from bleeding) the part where they chopped to stop him from bleeding to death. This way they could keep him alive for 3 days to mete out more torture.

33 inmates were killed, 90 others were beaten and raped, and it took the state police and national guards 36 hours to regain control of the whole situation. Police said that the brutality of the homicides they saw were worst than those they saw when they were serving time at Vietnam.

My goodness. If this is not gruesome I don't know what is. And I can take gruesome stuff quite well. Very fierce.

Saw seems almost...insignificant compared to this episode of Gangland. And I quite enjoy Saw (the movie) lor.

Fierce.
