Went on a dinner date with ger yesterday. Finally ventured out of our usual routine of putien/teppanyaki and met at Bugis! Had some atas Japanese food at Iluma which I suppose is really authentic cause there were a group of Japanese businessmen sitting behind us (quite good looking also ha ha they look like Gatsby models).
Had Mentaiko with potato and cheese after hearing about it for the longest time. Not too bad! Scallops were at the other end of the spectrum though. Pathetically small in size. When they served it up I said "Ha ha this is not scallops lor. More like hnr pia (fish cakes)".
We also had some..rice thingy that was cooked in front of us in some rich broth in a wooden pail thingy. I know I made it sound extremely un-appetizing but it's surprisingly good! Had free flow green tea which ger graciously commented "Walau this one si eh pai lim lor". Ha ha ha she asked for a glass of iced water like 3 seconds after receiving her iced green tea.
Exchanged seKretS about my school/social life to which ger rolled her eyes at my recent interest. Ha ha ha.
Me: Okay so I tell you ah there's this ___ that I have right... I say first ah, ___ does not look _______ at all so you cannot laugh ok!!!!
Ger: *rolls eyes* 你觉得我有可能不会笑吗?
Me: 你已经看准就算你笑我也会跟你说 right. :(
Ger: Ya. Ha ha just say lah.
Talked about matters that were..conflicting and bothersome also, to which she mentioned a point that I haven't really thought about at all. Ever since she brought up that point, I've been feeling less conflicted about the whole thing. Puts everything in a much clearer and objective perspective for me I guess.
Went over to Bugis Junction to walk off our dinner (and also to finish drinking our Koi). Book hunting was a failure even though I did picked up Patrick Süskind's The Pigeon along the way. But still no Dawn Porter :(( The Pigeon was surprisingly thin though, like in comparison to Perfume(also by Patrick Süskind).
Perfume used to be my favourite! Until Everything is Illuminated took over. Which reminds me, I still have not finished reading the book. Sibei jialat I still cannot bring myself to finish it after so long. It's like the magic of the book is going to end once I officially finish reading. And no, re-reading the book would not revive the magic. It's just...different! Maybe I'll just re-read the book from the start instead of forcing myself to finish it. A desperate attempt to preserve my own imaginary "magic" of my fave book. Ha ha. Ikr. My anal and eccentric book worm habits.
Bought watches together to which ger said "Walau 几岁了你可以学看 analog 的手表吗!!!" OKAY. IN MY DEFENSE I KNOW HOW TO TELL TIME ON AN ANALOG WATCH HOR!!!! Just that I prefer not to cause I'm a tad slower than other people and then I get very nervous whenever it's _:40 or _:45 because I SOMEtimes get it wrong. SOME. So there you have...101 reasons why I still prefer to wear digital watches. Lol.
Was on our way to the MRT station when...guess who we saw! Janus and Wenyong! Whassup whassup man. It was like super random and unexpected please. Ha ha. Trained home and it was PDA overload on the train with 2 giraffes shamelessly caressing each other. Really. Buey. Tahan. The train was fucking packed they die die still want to cuddle. WHY LIKE THAT!!!
Tsk tsk. And so...that was all. A once in a blue moon interesting Friday night that I had. Ha ha.
Ending off abruptly now.
xx
