Obsession

I like McFly. I like Onew. I like Seungho. I like ATL. I like WTK. I like Kaká. I like Alexa Chung.

I like them like how I like arrowhead chips, dried mango, durian, mai ya tang, chicken, fries, air con, loose tops, skinny jeans, slippers, and any other tangible things in life.

Was blog hopping when I stumbled across a...(is there another word for psycho?) blog. Out of 10 posts, 9 would be about korean idols and her immense fascination/support/love for them. I mean, declaring your love for them is one thing lah (I am guilty of that also), but being OBSESSED is another. Whole time I was scrolling through her blog, my mind was repeating "Siao eh siao eh siao eh".

I don't understand how someone can build their entire...interest, money and spare energy/time on another human being. Especially when that human being is just another pretty face in the midst of 100000 other pretty faces in the media. And chances are, you'll never ever ever even come remotely close to befriending that person in real life.

When I hang out with my girls and we indulge in some occasional pretty boy crazy talk, we'd say delusional things like "Wha!! Last night I sleep on ong's chest leh his muscles damn shiok" or "Tmr I flying to taiwan leh" or "Onew just sent me ginseng from korea" or "Joong my husband leh". But we say it for the sake of fun! Girl talk kinda fun yknow. I don't think anyone of us actually meant what we said or have this secret master plan drawn up to realize that delusion.

If any idol actually sent ginseng to me, I am definitely not going to eat it. Not because it's precious or whatever, but that ginseng may be poisoned lor! So free to send me expensive chinese herbs ah. Siao! For all you know, those idols may actually be closet psychos. (Ahem Edison Chen?)


And....I don't think the girl is joking about her obsession towards her favourite idols. Like full out, 100% obsession. A bit scary actually.

So..welcome to the psyche of a obsessed fan girl. Most of most of her blog entries are like...:

#1. Oh how I miss SHINee so much. Please take me to South Korea and have Onew appear right in front of my eyes.
#2. Onew oppa!!! I love you so so so so much. Please stay safe ok! Hwaiting!! I know you'll do SM proud!! :)
#3. Oh yes!! Onew oppa is back in S.Korea!! I miss my boyboy so much! I need my daily dosage of love specially sealed and mailed from Korea! < 3
#4. I hope SM doesn't tire out SHINee..Especially Onew!! He's been looking so tired and sleepy! I don't want my Onew to become a walking zombie!! :(

Siao hor!! It's totally normal to marvel at their talents/looks/whatever. We all have our own indulgences. But there's a fine line between marvelling and...being psycho-obsessed (à la Michael Jackson's fans killing themselves when MJ passed away).

The wonders of the human brain. Hahaha.
